JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The nation is just one night away from seeing the two presidential candidates face off in a potentially game-changing debate.
"I'm still kind of up in the air, but [will] probably go with Obama," said Claudia Lovett.
Lovett is one of the coveted undecided voters who thinks the debate has the potential to sway her vote.
"Oh yes, I think debates are really important," she said.
Curt Crowell believes the debates will weigh heavily on voters as the race to White House comes closer to Election Day.
"The elections are going to depend on how they do in the debate."
On Tuesday night, Dr. Michael Binder, a political science professor at the University of North Florida, conducted a phone survey of Florida voters about the upcoming elections.
Binder said it's very difficult to win an election in the first debate.
"Whether or not you have people with home runs, some people have come out and thought Romney would be hitting hard. There will be a couple of jabs. I don't know if anyone's going to throw the big bomb this early," said Binder.
Binder thinks both candidates are good debaters. He said Obama is a great speaker and Romney has had a lot of practice in debates
"They got a lot of practice in the primaries. In '08, Republicans felt they got outdebated. So what did they do? They gave themselves a lot of practice... If you look at Romney a year ago, he's much better now," said Binder. "Obabma's always been good, so I think it's going to be a solid debate."
