JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Jacksonville native and Iraq War veteran is walking the streets on the Westside in search for his dog.
Kenneth Chambers, who has post-traumatic stress disorder, says his dog helped him transition back to civilian life since he's been home.
Chambers is looking for his 4-year-old Australian Shepherd/Blue Heeler mix Adalida. He said he walked into the Save-A-Lot store off Blanding Blvd at 103rd Street and left Adalida in the car. The windows were down because of the heat.

Chambers said he went out to the car at 11 a.m. Wednesday and there was no sign of his dog. He said he was only in the store for five minutes.
"I've had her for four years since I could hold her in one hand, and she means the world to me, and for somebody to take my baby is just -- I won't stand for it," Chambers said.
Chambers spent a year and a half in Iraq. He said since his return, he was given Adalida, and she changed his life and helps him cope from his war days.
"Little did I know four years later that she would be the one to take care of me, and I mean from the bottom of my heart that she's absolutely saved my life, and that's why I need her back," Chambers said.
He filed a police report but said there will be no charges and no questions asked if the dog is returned safely.
