TAMPA, Fla. - A federal jury has chosen to convict a Tampa woman for her part in the deaths of two police officers, but the judge has not adjudicated her guilty.
Following Wednesday's verdict against Cortnee Brantley, U.S. District Court Judge James Moody is reserving his ruling on pending motions. The jury has been dismissed.
Brantley's previous trial ended in a hung jury, and she was being retried on a misprision charge. Prosecutors say she concealed from authorities that Morris was a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.
