JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Main Street Bridge is scheduled to close nightly beginning Sunday night for routine bridge maintenance.
The Florida Department of Transportation is scheduled to close the bridge nightly Sunday through Wednesday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. with traffic detouring to the Acosta Bridge.

The Main Street Bridge, built in 1941, requires more maintenance due to its age and because it is a moveable bridge, which was raised 1,382 times in 2014. This necessary maintenance is on the movable span of the bridge which is performed every six months.
