Graves and several others were reportedly asked to leave the home before going to the street in front of the home, where they began setting off fireworks.

When Milam and a friend again asked the group to leave, Graves pulled out a gun and ordered the two men to the ground before shooting Milam in the face and then leaving the area, the state attorney's office said.

Milam's wound was not fatal, but he continues recovering from his injuries.

Graves faces 25 years to life for the second-degree attempted murder conviction. A sentencing date will be set Monday.

Graves is also awaiting trial for the murder of brothers, Andrew and Matthew Bohannon, who were killed in July 2013 at a Golden Corral.
