Man, 27, arrested in shooting death

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police in Jacksonville have arrested a 27-year-old man in connection with the killing of another man in a Northwest Jacksonville home.

Cedric Tate is charged with murder in the shooting death of 40-year-old Wilford Johnson, of Orange Park.

Johnson's body was found in a home in the 1300 block of Moat Street late Wednesday afternoon.

Police received a call about a foul odor coming from the home. They responded and said they found the badly decomposed body.

Police said Tate was arrested after a witness heard him say he shot Johnson and robbed him of several thousand dollars.
