Man, 32, convicted in May killing
A 32-year-old Jacksonville man was found guilty Thursday evening for the shooting death of a 42-year-old man.
Christopher Anderson was convicted of first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in the killing of Armando Jackson in May.
Officers responded to the crime scene and found Anderson being physically restrained by multiple witnesses. They also found Jackson had been shot several times.
Jackson was taken to a hospital, where he later died.
Anderson and Jackson were both attending a party when Jackson asked Anderson if he knew a particular girl, prosecutors said. They said the two began to argue, and the confrontation became physical.
After being separated, Anderson left the party and returned with a gun. He then approached Jackson, pointed the gun at him and shot him twice in the front, and four times in the back and head after Jackson fell to the ground.
Anderson now faces life in prison. He will be sentenced the week of Jan. 13.
