JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is still looking for a man sought in connection with a shooting outside a Westside apartment complex earlier this month.
Edward Hicks, 39, is wanted on charges of attempted murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in relation to a shooting on May 7 at Canterbury Gardens Apartments in the 1500 block of Lane Avenue South.

Police said Hicks goes by the nickname of "Cowboy" and has numerous tattoos, including a face on his left chest with the dates 1940-2009, an angel on his left arm below the shoulder, tattoos covering nearly his entire right arm, and one tattoo on his inner left arm.
A mug shot from a prior arrest shows Hicks with no hair, but police said there are past booking photographs in which he has long hair, including dreadlocks or braided hairstyles, as well as hair that recedes from the front and center forehead.
Hicks is described as 5 feet 7 inches tall and 165 pounds.

Police said a man in his 20s was shot multiple times and suffered life-threatening injuries in the shooting.
Officers arrested 32-year-old Samson Woods on charges of aggravated assault with a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and accessory after the fact in connection with the shooting.
Police said Hicks fled the scene in a black Ford F-150 with Florida license plate No. AYA8230.
The shooting occurred just before 6 a.m. in the parking lot of the apartments. The victim drove himself or was taken to a gas station at the corner of Lane and Lenox avenues.
A Jacksonville Sheriff's Office homicide detective says it appears the shooting may have been over a dispute about drugs or prostitution.
