Man arrested after shooting at party
Police say man admitted to shooting partygoer in head when he felt threatened
A man who shot another man during a party at a Northside house early Sunday morning appeared before a judge Monday on a charge of attempted murder.
Jacksonville police called to investigate a shooting at Autumnwind Drive just after 1 a.m. were told Terrell Drew got into a verbal altercation with 42-year-old Timothy Davis about Drew dancing with the Davis' sister.
According to the police report, the two then began shoving one another, then Davis asked Drew to walk to the front of the house to talk.
Police were told that when the two men got to the front porch, Davis hit Drew several times, at which point Drew pulled out a handgun from his waistband and shot the Davis in the head one time.
According to police, Drew admitted to shooting the Davis because he felt threatened.
Police have not released the extent of injuries to Davis.
Drew is a 15-year employee of the Florida Forest Service and is currently a senior forest ranger.
