Man arrested in marijuana grow bust

COLUMBIA COUNTY, Fla. – A Fort White man was arrested Friday after an indoor marijuana growing operation was found in his home, according to the Columbia County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said they found about 34 marijuana plants being grown in a shed on the property in the 400 block of Southwest Bangor Way. Earl Raid, 49, was arrested.

Deputies said they also found the remnants of previously grown marijuana plants in the shed. A search of the suspect's home resulted in the discovery and seizure of an additional 50 marijuana plants.

Deputies discovered paraphernalia in the shed and in the home that facilitated in the growing of the marijuana plants. They said numerous items of paraphernalia used to smoke, package and weigh marijuana were found throughout the home.

Raid was booked into the Columbia County Detention Facility with bail set at $19,000.
