JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police have arrested a man in connection with the killing of another man and shooting of three others in a Murray Hill club in February.

Police said patrol officers with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office were working off-duty outside the Fat Kat Lounge on South Edgewood Avenue near Roosevelt Boulevard just before 4 a.m. Feb. 16 when shots were reported inside.

More than 200 people were inside the lounge at the time, according to police.

"It basically began over disrespectful behavior toward each other," said Assistant Chief Chris Butler. "There was a slight argument. I think there was some pushing as well."

Police said witnesses and video from the scene allowed them to identify Smith as the shooter.

Smith was arrested Friday and booked into the Duval County jail.

The club closed in March after outcry from the community.
