Man convicted in 2011 murder of woman

Andre Deshon Jenkins, 29, charged with 2nd-degree murder

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man was found guilty of murder Thursday in the 2011 slaying of a 49-year-old woman.

The Office of the State Attorney said Delilah King was found dead in the front yard of an Oaklane Drive home in May 2011.

Officials said an investigation revealed Andre Deshon Jenkins, 29, shot King in the head and then left the scene.

DNA recovered at the scene matched the DNA of Jenkins.

He was convicted Thursday with second-degree murder and faces up to life in prison. His sentencing is scheduled for the week of Aug. 8.
