JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Enrico Theodious Rhodes, 21, was convicted on three counts of attempted second-degree murder, three counts of armed robbery and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and aggravated fleeing and attempting to elude an officer in connection with a robbery, carjacking and police chase last summer.
According to prosecutors, Rhodes approached three employees getting off work from the Olive Garden on City Station Drive shortly after 11:30 p.m. on July 2012. While pointing a handgun at the victims, he demanded that they hand over their keys and phones and even made two of the victims remove their pants.

Rhodes then jumped into one of the victim's cars before fleeing the scene.
Police were able to locate the stolen vehicle by GPS tracking of one of the victim's stolen cell phones. Rhodes refused to stop the vehicle for police and fired shots at the JSO officers. Police returned fire, but did not hit Rhodes.
After Rhodes crashed into a fence on Old Middleburg Road, JSO was forced to immobilize Rhodes to stop the defendant from driving away. Rhodes attempted to flee on foot, but failed after being tracked down by K9 units.
Rhodes, a felony re-offender, faces life in prison. He will be sentenced the week of July 15, 2013.
