Man convicted of murder faces life in prison

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 26-year-old man was found guilty as charged Friday afternoon of first-degree murder, armed robbery and armed burglary. Carl Ezekiel Woods faces mandatory life in prison. He will be sentenced the week of June 27.

On October 19, 2014, the victim, Rolando Valencia, 35, was found dead inside of his home as a result of multiple gunshot wounds.

The investigation revealed that Woods went to the victim’s residence on the night of the incident. During that time, he robbed and shot Valencia three times before fleeing the scene.
