JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 23-year-old man was found guilty Tuesday evening of a 2013 shooting at a gas station, state attorneys said.
Robert Smith was found guilty of aggravated assault with actual possession and discharge of a firearm, and shooting or throwing deadly missiles, according to state attorneys.

In May 2013, the target of the shooting was at a Norwood Avenue gas station when he got into an altercation with Smith.
During the argument, Smith pulled out a gun and shot at the victim before fleeing, state attorneys said.
The victim then waved down an officer with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office who was driving nearby and alerted him to the shooting. State attorneys said Smith was later arrested.
Smith now faces up to 35 years in prison, with a 20-year mandatory minimum. State attorneys said he will be sentenced the week of June 15.
