Man injured in attempted robbery

Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says victim was bleeding from his abdomen

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating an attempted robbery in the Spring Park area of Jacksonville. 

Police say they responded to the intersection of Spring Park and San Diego roads about 11:20 p.m. Tuesday. Officers found a man bleeding from his abdomen.

Police the man told officers two male suspects attempted to rob him, leading to a struggle and the victim's injury. He made his way to a convenience store, where police were called.

At this time police do not know if the victim was shot or injured by another type of weapon. He was taken to UF Health Jacksonville. His condition wasn't immediately known. 

Lt. Derek Boucher said they are working to determine where the attempted robbery occurred. 

Police say the two men, who were driving a dark-colored SUV, did not got get away with anything.
