Man injured in officer-involved shooting

Police: Man tried running over officers with car

ORLANDO, Fla. – A man is recovering from injuries after being shot multiple times by Orlando police officers.

According to investigators, officers tried to speak with the man, later identified as Ta'Von O. Grayson, about 1:30 a.m. Saturday at a parking garage on Orange Avenue.

Officers said Grayson refused to talk with them and instead started driving his car toward them.

Grayson met officers again a short distance away at West Amelia Avenue and Garland Avenue, where officers fired their weapons, officials said.

Grayson was stopped after crashing his car into four vehicles -- two of them police cars.

Grayson was taken to the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds and is in serious but stable condition, police said.

Police said none of the officers were injured.

The five officers involved in the shooting are now on administrative leave, pending the outcome of the investigation by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
