According to police, the man checked into the hotel earlier in the day.

Investigators believe the man was alone at the time he fell and suspect he intentially jumped from the 16th floor of the hotel and landed on the hood of a Lexus.

The man is described as a white man in his 40s. Officers have not revealed his identity at this time, as they are waiting on family members to identify him.

"Right now, we are in the process of trying to identify who he was and why this happened," said police. "All indications right now appear he jumped from the 16th floor balcony."

Investigators said the man lives in Jacksonville. Police are not sure yet if this incident was alcohol-related.
