VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – A man is recovering after Volusia County deputies say he lost his right hand from a homemade fireworks display on New Year's Eve.
Deputies said the man contacted authorities just before midnight after suffering a severe injury to his right hand from a homemade fireworks display.

According to deputies, the man lost his entire right hand following the explosion, and walked to a nearby home on Minerva Road to report the accident.
No other details on the accident were immediately available.
