Man shot and robbed in NW Jax

JSO: 4-5 male suspects; no arrests made

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 30-year-old man is in the hospital recovering after he was robbed and shot in the leg Thursday morning.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office reports the robbery took place at 1100 West 25th Street.

"The victim stated to us that he was in this area, in his vehicle when he was approached by 4-5 unknown black males. One of those black males produced a handgun and told the victim 'you know what time it is' then shot at the victim several times," said Sgt. J.S. Wilson. The victim then fled the area and called police.

According to JSO, 4 to 5 men approached the victim, robbed him and shot him twice in the leg. Witnesses say they heard 5 shots around 4:33 a.m.

The victim was taken to UF Health.
