JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man is recovering in the hospital after he was shot in the leg on the Northside.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded to Escambia Street in reference to a shooting.

Police said a man was shot while walking down Norwood Avenue and then ran to a home on Escambia Street for help. A homeowner called 911 and the man was transported to UF Health with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his leg.
The Violent Crimes Task Force is investigating the shooting.
JSO did not have any information on the shooter.
