STARKE, Fla. – A man sought by Jacksonville police on charges of murder and arson was arrested Thursday at a Starke bar, according to the Bradford County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators said Jacksonville detectives continued to track 45-year-old Randal Wagoner following a homicide in Jacksonville a few months ago until they obtained enough probable cause to secure an arrest warrant.

Wagoner is charged in the death of 43-year-old Kathy Johnson, who died Dec. 1 in a fire at a tavern in the 3300 block of Commonwealth Avenue on the Westside.

Jacksonville police said the killing was the result of a fight over drugs and sex, and the two did know each other.

Wagoner was confronted about 3:20 p.m. Thursday at a bar on U.S. Highway 301 in Starke. Deputies said he did not offer any resistance but refused to be questioned.

Wagoner was being held at the Bradford County jail without bail on the second-degree murder charge and $500,003 bail on the arson charge. He will be returned to Duval County in the near future, deputies said.
