Man steals bag from Walgreens clerk, JSO says

JSO: Man jumped counter, ran towards clerk who dropped bag

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man who stole a bag from a clerk at a Walgreens in Jacksonville is being sought by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

The robbery happened at the store in the 11100 block of Lem Turner Road.

JSO said the man approached the counter, asked for cigarettes and began to swipe his card.

After acting as if he were going to pay for the items, the man grabbed for the bag being held by the clerk, but she backed away from him, authorities said.

The man jumped the counter and ran towards the clerk at which time she dropped the bag. JSO said the man picked up the bag, jumped back out of the cashier area and left the store.

The man was last seen on foot heading across the parking lot, officials said.

The robber is described by JSO as a black man in his mid 30's and weighing 180 to 200 pounds. He wore a yellow T-shirt and black jeans.
