JSO was told that a student said a man tried to get her in his car in the morning. JSO said the child told the teacher toward the end of the school day.

The man pulled up behind the child in a white four-door vehicle while she was walking to school with another child. JSO said the vehicle was described as having a dent on the passenger side next to the fuel-cap cover.

The man asked the child if she wanted a ride. The child stated no. JSO said the man kept following her in his vehicle, saying "get in the car" multiple times.

The children ran until they got to a group of other kids, which is when they noticed the man had left, according to JSO.

The child described the man to police as an older white man with a gray beard who is balding, has a lazy right eye and a red flower tattoo on his right upper arm, JSO said. A composite sketch of the man was released by the department.

Anyone who has any information about the man's identity is asked to call JSO at 904-630-0500 or email JSOCrimeTips@jaxsheriff.org. JSO said tipsters who wish to remain anonymous and receive a possible reward up to $3,000 can call Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS.
