Flagler Co. traffic stop lands North Carolina fugitive

PALM COAST, Fla. – A man wanted on charges of attempted murder and discharging a weapon into an occupied vehicle was arrested after a traffic stop in Palm Coast.

Glen Allen Stewart, 24 of Erwin, N.C., was pulled over after driving slowly through the Walmart parking lot on Cypress Point Parkway.

A sheriff's deputy stopped Stewart, who was driving a Black Chevrolet Tahoe, after the tag came back as being revoked for a lapse of insurance coverage. Dispatchers alerted the deputy that the vehicle was involved in a violent crime in North Carolina.

Police said the driver showed them a North Carolina driver's license and Social Security card with the name of Alphonso Bristow, Jr. Deputies were able to get a description of Stewart from officials in North Carolina and saw that Stewart had several tattoos that identified Bristow Jr, and Stewart to be one in the same.

Police found several rounds of 9mm ammunition, a ski mask, gloves, and $2,600 in cash in the vehicle.

Locally Stewart was charged with resisting arrest without violence and possession of ammunition by a convicted felon. He was transported to the Flagler County Detention Center where he's being held on no bond.
