Man who robbed 73-year-old at hotel sought

PALM COAST, Fla. – Flagler County detectives are asking for the public's help identifying a man who robbed a 73-year-old on Monday while he was staying at the Best Western Hotel on Kingswood Drive in Palm Coast.

The victim told detectives that at about 12:40 p.m., the man in a silver car approached him in the parking lot and asked him if he was checking out of the hotel. The victim said the man then told him he was there to fix the TV set in his room.

The victim said he was having problems with the TV and believed the man was there to help.

The victim said the man followed him to his room, and when he opened the door, the man pushed him to the ground and made threatening remarks to him and stole his wallet.

The robber is described as a black male, between 5 feet 8 and 5 feet 10 inches tall, between 180 and 190 pounds, with greasy black hair. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and dark jeans. Surveillance video spotted him driving a 2003-07 silver Honda Accord or Honda Civic.
