JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Traffic homicide detectives are investigating after a person driving on Philips Highway early Sunday morning found a man's body in the road.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office was called about 3:45 a.m. near the intersection of Philips and Emerson Street after receiving a call from the driver who found the body.

Investigators are working to identify the victim and notify family members.
About four hours after the first call, police said they had found a suspect vehicle and driver a few miles away, but the names and other details would not be released until Monday.
Philips Highway traffic was diverted onto Emerson before dawn Sunday while police investigated.
