Steven Stark, 62, last spoke to family Oct. 20; found at hotel in St. Augustine

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – A 62-year-old Palm Beach County teacher reported missing one week ago was found Friday afternoon by St. Augustine police at the Sleep Inn on Anastasia Boulevard.

Steven Stark, a teacher at Citrus Cove Elementary School in Boynton Beach, was taken to Flagler Hospital for psychiatric evaluation, police said.

According to the Boynton Beach police, Stark last spoke to his family on Oct. 20. A search of his home turned up his cellphone, but his 2006 Dodge pickup truck was gone.

Investigators said Stark's debit card was used several times in St. Johns County this week, including about noon Wednesday at the Publix at 2845 County Road 210.

Stark's employer and family members said it was unlike Steven to just disappear.

Detectives said Thursday they had no reason to believe that Stark was in any danger or a harm to himself.

It is still unclear why Stark left Boynton Beach.
