Monster Jam roars into Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – One of the loudest events in Jacksonville returned Saturday.

Monster Jam at EverBank Field was ready to rumble the city of Jacksonville with more than a dozen monster trucks.

News4Jax got a look inside the stadium Friday as part of media day

The event's promoter said this is the biggest show fans will ever see: 19 monster trucks is the largest line up that Jacksonville has ever seen.

Those trucks will be ripping up the track for over three hours on Saturday.

The Party in the Pit begins at 1:30 p.m. Fans can get up close and personal with a truck that's up to 15-feet tall. They can also get autographs from the drivers.

Gates open at 5 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m. as the Monster Trucks crush donated cars.

"We're going to have actually four competitions throughout the show. We're going to have a racing competition, a wheelie competition, and an actual obstacle course competition that we've set up here and then a freestyle competition at the very end where the trucks just go crazy," Monster Jam promoter Chad Ballard said. "You're inside an NFL stadium with the huge (video) boards that the Jaguars just put up, and you're going to get some really cool action here for a really good price."

K Yung has been one of the announcers for the monster jam for two years and said there will be more tricks than you can count.

"You're going to see a lot of Monster Jam reaction with all of the Monster Jam trucks and drivers. There's a lot of ramps to go over and there's going to be a lot of action and a lot of high flying action too."
