Monster Jam thrills crowd

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Monster Jam roared into Everbank Field Saturday, crushing obstacles and thrilling fans at the annual monster truck event.

The main attraction, Grave Digger, and other gigantic rigs put on a show as the crowd delighted in the destruction.

The event attracted 70,000 people, making it one of one of Jacksonville's most popular and largest single-day events.

All day, the huge field of Monster Jam trucks competed in side-by-racing and the fan-favorite freestyle competition.

Kids couldn't get enough of the fun at the Pit Party Saturday afternoon.

"I like it because it's loud and has lots of dirt," said Gage Spangler.

"They're fast, they tip over and the colors," said Jadon Coben.

While monster trucks like Grave Digger are in Jacksonville for only one night, truck enthusiasts said this year's "Party in the Pits" was one they'll never forget.

"My friend has never been here," said Lynn Parrish. "She's going to flip out because the feeling that it gives you is chill bumps down your arm and spine. It's wonderful and I'll come as long as I can."
