More ideas to solve city's pension problem

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville City Council members have offered some new ideas have to fix Jacksonville's pension mess.

The finance committee has approved a plan with some changes that could end up at the full council next Tuesday. The plan deals with how often the council can come back and make changes to the pension deal.

Right now, the proposed agreement calls for the pension deal to be re-evaluated every 10 years. There is a move to change that to three years.

But the finance committee's plan says re-evaluation would depend on economic conditions.

An earlier plan was approved by the rules committee on Monday. But it will have to be debated and decided on by the full council next week.
