Are you making these top breakfast mistakes?

ORLANDO, Fla. (Ivanhoe Newswire) – Many people say breakfast is the most important meal of the day. But could what you are eating make it more difficult to burn calories?

Some people believe if you skip breakfast, you are saving calories. That is actually a fat trap. Skipping breakfast may make turning down treats harder. You are more likely to make up for missed calories with junkier food choices later in the day.

That blueberry muffin that you are having for breakfast may not seem so bad, but it is packed with more added sugar than what you should have for the entire day. Twenty four grams of sugar per day is the recommended maximum, that muffin may have twice that. Instead try mixing in some dark chocolate in your oatmeal, if you are looking for something sweet.

And it’s better to eat more calories for breakfast than for lunch or dinner. Researchers found that overweight women who ate more calories at breakfast and fewer during lunch and dinner lost more weight than those who ate more calories during dinner.

If you are too busy in the morning to make breakfast, try preparing it the night before. It makes it much easier to have a healthy breakfast.
