Ask the Vet: What do you do if your dog has bumps?

Bumps could mean variety of things

By Justin Prochaska - Producer

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Lumps on pets can be a variety of things, including cancer. Usually, lumps on pets are fatty tumors, but bug bites, allergies, acne or parasites can also cause bumps.

Benign and malignant bumps can generally look the same. Vets say to send your pet to a veterinarian if you notice a bump on your pet to rule out anything.

If the lump grows or your animal begins to experience redness or swelling, you should also see a vet.

Surgeries can be done to remove malignant bumps.
