The study was conducted over the last three years, studying the numbers of how many people have a Facebook.  iStrategy Labs study found since 2011 more than three million teenagers, ages 13 to 17, left Facebook.

Facebook also saw a loss when it came young adults aged 18 to 24.  Three million young adults also left leaving Facebook with a drop of Facebook memberships of more than 30 percent of young users.

Though Facebook saw a decline in young users the social media site saw an increase with the older community, thus leading to an overall 23 percent membership increase for those in the United States.
