JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

A 42-year-old motorcyclist died in a crash with a Hummer Monday morning on Interstate 295.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Christopher Costello was riding north on I-295, just past San Jose Boulevard, in the center right travel lane about 6:50 a.m.

State troopers said a Hummer H2 was traveling north in the left lane of I-295.

They said Costello tried to change lanes, moving to the left lane, and failed to slow in time. Troopers said the front of the motorcycle struck the rear of the Hummer, throwing Costello from the motorcycle.

Costello was wearing a helmet.

Troopers said no charges are pending.
