Lucas Eckert was convicted of lewd and lascivious molestation

NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. – Lucas W. Eckert, 35, was sentenced Thursday to 25 years in prison, followed by a lifetime of sex offender probation, for his February conviction of lewd or lascivious molestation.

Eckert was arrested in August 2014 after the 9-year-old victim's mother alerted authorities to the abuse.

Eckert, a friend of the family, molested the girl when the two were left alone.

The abuse was discovered when the mother found a cut on the victim's finger.

The child told her mother Eckert forced her to shave his stomach, which resulted in the injury, and then inappropriately touched her.
