Turnage's pretrial is set for April.

He appeared in court last month on charges of stealing Westfall's car.

Westfall disappeared in October after attending his son's high school football game.

About two months later, his remains were found in a wooded area in South Carolina.

Turnage was arrested in New Jersey on the car theft charge.

At the arraignment Thursday, Westfall's son, Kasey Westfall, said he hopes Turnage will be indicted on a first-degree murder charge.
