Nassau County deputy involved in crash

Woman transported to hospital with minor injuries

YULEE, Fla – A Nassau County Sheriff's deputy was involved in a crash early Friday morning.

Deputy Stephen Jones, 26, was driving west on State Road 200 near Mentoria Road about 4:30 a.m. when a white Chevy Impala pull out from a stop sign and crossed into the path of the deputy's SUV, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The marked Nassau County SUV struck the driver's side of the Impala, driven by Teresa Studemann, 49. She was transported Baptist of Fernandina Beach with minor injuries.

Deputy Jones was not injured.

The FHP report says Studemann would be cited for violation of right of way.
