Eckert was arrested after the victim's mother alerted authorities to the abuse. Prosecutors said Eckert, a friend of the family, molested the girl when the two were left alone. The abuse was discovered when the mother found a cut on the victim's finger. The child told her mother Eckert forced her to shave his stomach, which resulted in the injury, and then inappropriately touched her.

Eckert now faces 25 years and up to life in prison. He will be sentenced March 5.
