Boy, 10, steals parents' car, claims he's a dwarf

Parents shocked to discover son, daughter, car missing

A ten-year-old boy took his 18-month-old sister and his parents' car for a ride because he wanted to visit his grandparents.

Reuters reports that the boy, who lives in a town roughly 65 miles north of Oslo, Norway, woke up early one morning, packed his 18-month-old sister into the family car and drove toward their grandparents' house several towns over, local police said.

A spokesperson for the police department said, "The parents woke up and discovered that the children were missing and that someone had taken off with their car. They were pretty upset, as you can imagine."

The boy drove more than six miles before he veered off the road and crashed. A snowplow driver found the car a short time later, at which time police say the boy told the driver that he was a dwarf and that he had forgotten his driver's license at home.

The children were not injured and no charges were filed.
