Twins born 12 hours apart don't share birthday

Doctor says it's rare for twins to be born so far apart

Twins have a lot of sharing to look forward to in life, but one set of twins from New York will not be sharing a birthday.

Tammy Muldowney gave birth to her first child, daughter Kennedy Clare, at around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Women and Children's Hospital in Buffalo., reports The Associated Press.

Muldowney and her husband waited for the second baby to be born, but that would not come until nearly 12 hours later. Twin brother Kellan Michael was born the following day.

The doctor who delivered the healthy babies says it's not uncommon to see twins born up to a couple hours apart, but 12 hours is rare.
