NC murder suspect has ties to Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The FBI and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department in Charlotte, N.C., are asking for the public's help in finding a murder suspect who has ties to Jacksonville and other areas.

Luis Alberto Ordonez-Vega, 35, of Guatemala, is wanted on a murder charge in the shooting death of Noel Navarro Hernandez on June 6 in southwest Charlotte.

A federal warrant for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution has been issued as well. Investigators said it's possible that Ordonez-Vega has fled the Charlotte area to avoid arrest.

He also has ties to Jacksonville; Sandy, Utah, and the Brentwood/Long Island, New York, area.

Ordonez-Vega should be considered armed and dangerous.

He's described as a white Hispanic male with black hair and brown eyes, 5 feet 11 inches to 6 feet tall, and between 220 and 260 pounds. Ordonez-Vega has a scar on his nose, a scar on both of his cheeks, tattoos on both of his arms, and a tattoo on his left hand.
