North Florida deals with cold weather

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – As temperatures struggle to reach the upper 50s and a stiff wind, for many in North Florida, it is downright cold.

Alisha Lewis and her new husband, Larry August, said "I do" Saturday in San Marco Square. With temperatures in the 50s and high wind gusts, it wasn't the outdoor wedding they expected.

"I'm not sure if its nerves or weather, but I'm shivering," said Lewis, a beautiful but cold bride.

"It feels like we were in the freezer. It felt like that to me it was that cold," said August.

They made the best of it, snapping pictures while family and friends looked on, covered with coats.

Many people had to pull out the warm weather gear to deal with the unseasonably strong cold front pushing through the area, bringing strong winds and cooler temps.

People were finding all kinds of ways to try to stay warm. One of the most popular ways was fining something warm to drink.

From hot tea to coffee, many people reached for anything with heat, including Geri Bernard and her parents.

"It's just teary. That's why I have two; my eyes are teary. It's cold but it's still beautiful out," said Bernard.

Outside Everbank Field, the cool temps and wind didn't stop fans from celebrating before watching Georgia take on Florida.

"I would say its probably tailgating weather it's not football weather it keeps you a little bit chilly because were all out here running around here having a good time 38 but out there for those guys the ball is probably going in all sorts of directions," said Daniel Wideregren, a Georgia fan.

Fans, friends and family, all making the best of an unexpectedly chilly day.
