1 dead after wrong-way crash on Interstate 295

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – One person is dead and two others are injured after a crash in the southbound lanes of Interstate 295 just north of Wilson Blvd just after 4 a.m. Sunday, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

According to FHP, Jerome Cason, 35, was killed when the 1995 Ford Crown Victoria that he was riding in collided head on with a 2008 Nissan Altima driven by 28-year-old Robert Nathaniel Brown.

Both Brown and 21-year-old Jasmine Marie Jack, the driver of the Crown Victoria, were transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

FHP says one of the vehicles was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes when the cars collided in the middle lane.
