Man shot in leg at Southside night club

JSO: Altercation outside of club led to shooting

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – One person was shot early Thursday morning at a Pure Night Club, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Police said a dispute occurred between two groups inside the club at the intersection of Philips Highway and Baymeadows Road around midnight. When the groups left, an altercation ensued outside.

According to JSO, one patron retrieved a handgun from his vehicle and struck the other patron on the face. When a friend attempted to intervene, he was shot once in the leg. The suspect then fled the scene.

The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said the suspect is still at large. No suspect description was given by police.
