'Operation: That's My Dress' gives back to military

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The United Service Organization found a special way to give back to female service members, military spouses, and teen-aged daughters, by providing them designer dresses.

The USO hosted its "Operation: That's My Dress" at the Omni Hotel in downtown Jacksonville Sunday afternoon.

Organizers said the program provides a fashion and entertainment experience for participants.

Rear Admiral Mary Jackson, a contributor to the event, says it delivers hundreds of brand new designer dresses for Prom, Homecoming, holidays, military balls, and other formal occasions.

"USO does amazing work for our service members and this is an opportunity for us to say thank you to the families, which is really so important."

The event included a fashion show with Miss USA contestants and professional models.

The event also featured a Beauty Bar with jewelry and fashion accessories for participants to get a complete look. And after the fashion show participants got hair and makeup demonstrations from professional style consultations and celebrity stylists.
