Ordinance for sex shops proposed in Clay County

Commission: Adult businesses must be 2,500 feet from schools

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. – The Clay County Commission proposed an ordinance Tuesday evening that would regulate where sex shops can operate.

The ordinance said qualifying distances between adult businesses would be 2,500 feet from a school and 500 feet from any religious institution, group home, park or residential zoning district.

County officials said they want to hear from the public on the issue. They said a public meeting may be scheduled so that people can voice their thoughts and concerns.
