A 31-year-old Palatka man was arrested Thursday night during a traffic stop on drug-related charges and several outstanding warrants.
At about 9 p.m., deputies stopped a vehicle in the 700 block of Main Street because the driver failed to dim her bright lights as the car approached the deputies in the opposite direction.
During the traffic stop, the deputies discovered that the only passenger of the vehicle, Marcus Shorter, had several outstanding warrants for his arrest, and that he was in possession of marijuana, investigators said.
The deputies arrested Shorter and booked him into jail.
They said when they arrived at the jail, they found he was still in possession of and further trying to conceal a plastic baggie containing crack cocaine.
Shorter was being held without bail on numerous charges.
