GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla. – A Palatka man was charged with lewd and lascivious battery of a teenage girl in a remote area of Clay County.
According to his arrest warrant, 19-year-old Andrew Galloway was arrested Wednesday in connection with the attack that happened in November of 2016.

The victim told Clay County deputies, she and Galloway left her home in Green Cove Springs to go for a walk. While in a remote area, she said Galloway began touching her. The girl told deputies she refused Galloway's advances and that's when he hit her, pulled her hair, then forcefully took her shorts off and forced her to have sex, the warrant states.
Detectives said the attack happened on November 1, 2016, but it wasn't reported until November 23, 2016.
Galloway was arrested at his home in Palatka. He was being held in the Clay County jail on $15,000 bond.
