PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. -

A 23-year-old Palatka woman was critically injured Saturday evening when the all-terrain vehicle she was riding on a dirt road hit an rut and overturned.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Amy Warren was riding the ATV on East Alachua Street about 6:15 p.m. when the accident occurred.  The was taken to UF Shands in Gainesville by air ambulance.

An 18-year-old passenger on the back was able to jump off before the vehicle overturned and was not hurt.

Trooper said neither rider was wearing a helmet.
